Rotation vs. grain
Leave grain direction off when parts may rotate. Turn it on for veneered plywood, prefinished panels or any layout where orientation matters.
Kerf and clean edges
Kerf reserves room for the blade. Edge trim reduces the usable sheet when factory edges need to be squared before production cuts.
